Luzel Badayos Saniel, a University of Bohol 1st year student taking up Bachelor in Secondary Education Student major in MAPEH, is chosen as one of the 30 campers to the 2nd Young Women’s Camp (YWC) on Gender Issues, Sexuality and Prostitution who will be traveling to Forest Camp Apolong, Valencia, Negros Oriental on April 27-29, 2009.
The 2nd Young Women’s Camp (YWC) is a program sponsored by the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women – Asia Pacific (CATW-AP). The CATW is an international network of feminist groups, organizations and individuals fighting the sexual exploitation of women globally. Sexual exploitation –especially prostitution and trafficking– violates women’s human rights and is a severe form of discrimination. CATW or The Coalition brings international attention to trafficking in women and girls, prostitution, pornography, sex tourism, and bride selling, mainly through campaigns and policy advocacy.
The camp is a great opportunity for Miss Saniel to learn more about fighting sexual exploitation and prompting’s Women’s Human Right.
