Besinga won CVRAA 2009 boxing silver medal

Melvin Besinga, a 15 years old 3rd year high school student of the University of Bohol, recently won the Silver Medal in Boxing Event in Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association or CVRAA held last March 15-22 at Dumaguete City.

CVRAA is a prestigious athletic association in Central Visayas that gives importance to talented and skilled youth like Melvin Besinga. Besinga has been joining the CVRAA for quite sometime now. He was a Silver Medalist in Boxing event in CVRAA 2008 held in Tagbilaran City, Bronze Medalist in Smart National Open Amateur Boxing Championship in Bacolod 2008, Gold Medalist in Boxing Event in CVRAA 2007 held in Dumaguete City, Gold Medalist in Boxing Event in CVRAA 2006 held in Tagbilaran City, Gold Medalist in Inter-City Amateur Boxing Championship 2006 in Maasin Leyte, and 6th Placer in National Marathon 2006.

Many were astonished of Melvin’s skills because he is known to be gentle and kind. “He is a bright kid with a bright future ahead!” says his school adviser Grace Felomeno. Melvin will continue his training under the guidance of his coach Junrey Buñao of ALA Gym.
