Accountancy student is Student Ambassador to JENESYS

John Rey B. Rodriguez, a 3rd year BS Accountancy student of the University of Bohol has been chosen by the National Youth Commission (NYC), in conjunction with the Japan International Cultural Center (JICC) of the Embassy of Japan and the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE), as one of the student ambassadors to the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) Programme to be conducted on May 12-21, 2009 in Japan.

Rodriguez will be escorted by Leah Wilfreda Pilongo, Social Science Coordinator and Faculty Member of the UB College of Education, also qualified teacher-chaperone for the said program. The JENESYS Programme is funded by the Japanese Government and in partnership with the ASEAN Secretariat and its purpose is to deepen understanding of the different facets of the Japanese society including politics, diplomacy, economics and culture and to form the basis of future vision and construct firm solidarity among Asian countries which will promote mutual understanding of the future generation of ASEAN and East Asia Summit member countries. Part of the activities in Japan will include field visits, interactions with Japanese youths, and cultural experiences.

The JENESYS Programme is a gateway for understanding the different cultures to help strength the bond of friendship for both our countries for a much better tomorrow.
