Diamond Jubilee Hall ready for 1st semester classes

Freshly painted, fully air-conditioned classrooms, complete equipment, and advance laboratories, the best in the province, is set to welcome students for 1st semester, in time for the opening of classes in June 2009.

The UB Diamond Jubilee Hall, which had its dedication ceremony during the Charter Day celebration in December, 2008 will house the college of nursing. In preparation for more nursing student this school year, the 4-storey multi-million building is located at the UB main campus with its entrance along Palma Street.

As the building is undergoing finishing touches now, some of the air-conditioned classrooms are now being used by the UB nursing students for their summer classes.

The well-designed building is constructed to provide convenience and excellent facilities to a much greater and more advanced teaching and training for nursing students. It houses 16 modern air-conditioned classrooms, offices of the College of Nursing and School of Midwifery, state-of-the-art laboratories and theater, brand new and modern nursing laboratory equipment. The entire building is also made a WiFi zone, to provide its faculty and students ready wireless Internet access.

Meanwhile, the UB College of Nursing continues to accept and warmly welcomes new enrollees for the 1st semester SY 2009-2010. Transferees and second-courses are also welcome. Entrance exams are still conducted. There are scheduled exams on April 27, 2009 and May 4, 2009. More entrance exams will be scheduled later.

Requirements for the examination are the following: a) Certificate of Good Moral Character from the H.S. principal/registrar; b) photocopy of the birth certificate; c) 2 pcs. 2 x 2 ID pictures; d) duly accomplished application form; and e) examination fee.
