DBT welcome new studes

Lawyer David B. Tirol, president of the University of Bohol warmly welcomed the new students of the university during the general orientation program held at the school’s gymnasium last July 9, 2009.

Before the jam-packed crowd, Pres. Tirol lauded the students for having wise and correct decision in choosing UB as their institution of learning. According to Tirol, the University of Bohol has been and always dedicated to the foremost interest and benefits of the students. “UB existS for the students and not students exist for UB”, the president added.

On the same vein, Atty. Tirol categorically mentioned Ann Crusit, a graduate of the college of education who is selected recently by MalacaƱang as one of the ten outstanding students of the Philippines. He attributed the success of Crusit to the high quality performance of the faculty and the support of the University of Bohol administration. It may be recalled that within this school year, the university added feathers on her cap when six students also bagged honors, namely: Marie Nikki Bolos, Bayer young environmental envoy to Germany and regional finalist in the search for ten outstanding students of the Philippines; John Ray Rodriguez and Lalaine Dahao, student ambassadors to Japan; JP Piquero, awardee, AYALA Youth Leaders of the Philippines; Lucille Saniel, Bohol representative to the National Youth Camp on Gender Sexuality; and Rudalyn Horolan, 3rd placer- Civil Service Sub-professional -Paper and Pencil Test, regional level.

The program was attended by the members of the executive and administrative council who also welcomed the new students to the university . Dean Naomi Pamaran-CaƱuto of the office of the student/ personnel services (SPS) hosted the successful affair. (by: Leo Armando Boncales)
