Youth leader is new SPS dean


Dr. Janice Aurora Briones Tirol, a professor of the College of Education, has formally assumed office as the new dean of the Student-Personnel Services and Student Affairs of the University of Bohol.

Dr. “Nice” as she is known in the campus is a graduate of Bachelor in Secondary Education major in social studies and a holder of the degree in Master of Arts in Educational Administration and Doctor in Philosophy. She is currently studying Doctor of Human Resource Management.

Prior to her appointment, the 28 year old dean has participated in the China-ASEAN Young Civil Servants Exchange Program in China last July 2007, Japan Young Leaders Summit as Philippine Ambassador in Tokyo, Japan, in November 2007, and Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program (SSEAYP) as Philippine Youth Ambassador, in October-December, 2007, held in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia.

Dr. Tirol also served as coordinator of the Project E2 “Educate and Power”, a humanitarian project of promising youth leaders and teachers, last November 22 to 28, 2008 in Thailand, Singapore and Cambodia. She also participated in the Discussion Program on the theme School Education as assistant facilitator among youth leaders from Southeast Asean countries. As National Commission volunteer she was appointed as regional preliminary judge for the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO). She is presently the adviser of Youth Chroniclers Organization AND THE Education Achievers’ Club of the University of Bohol. (MIchalle Wong-Guillena)
