NYC conducts dialogue


The National Youth Commission (NYC) represented by Commissioner for the Visayas Area Benjie S. Oliva and NYC Head for Visayas Queenie Dadulo has conducted a “Dialogue with the Youth.” to the students of the University of Bohol at the Instructional Media Center (IMC) last July 29, 2010

Under Republic Act 8044 otherwise known as the “Youth in Nation-Building Act”. The National Youth Commission is primarily responsible in registering, helping and facilitating the establishment of youth organizations and youth serving organizations. It is also tasked to formulate a national framework for youth development in the country. The current programs of the NYC include, Ship for Southeast Asian Program, Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO), Government Internship Program, National Youth Parliament, Local Youth Development Program, Youth Legal Aid Program, and the Kabataan sa Mindanao Natin (a comprehensive advocacy-training program on the culture of peace, human rights and the indigenous people).

Dr. Janice Aurora B. Tirol, SPS dean, warmly welcomed the NYC guests to the university. The event was attended by the student leaders and members of the different Campus Student organizations led by Donald Curan and James Obedencio, UBSSG president and vice president respectively.
