UB president welcomes new students
Lawyer Victoriano B. Tirol, Jr., president of the University of Bohol, has lead the school administrators in welcoming the new students of the university during the general orientation program held last July 7, 2010, at the UB gymnasium.
In the opening, the university president expressed his thanks to the parents and guardians for sending their students to UB and entrusting their childrens’ future to the institution. In response, Tirol stressed the continuing faculty development program and the upgrading of school facilities to make sure that the university can deliver its best in education to the student-clienteles. “The president together with the members of the board of trustees , the academic and administrative councils will do our best to help you attain your dreams and ambitions in life. University of Bohol can give you a kind of education that will spell success in the future”, Tirol assured.
Speaking before the jampacked crowd, UB President Tirol also reminded the students that while the administration is doing its best, the biggest share in developing their personality and future rest on them, their perseverance, dedication and commitment to their studies.
Dr. Janice Aurora Tirol, dean of the Student Personnel Service (SPS) has presented the rationale and some school guidelines and policies to the freshmen and transferee students . Others who made their respective presentations during the program include Dr. Lumin T, Pamaran, VP for academics, Ms. Dalia Melda T. Magno , registrar, Dr. Kismet Mutya T. Macuno, physician, Dr. Teresa Garcia, guidance center head, Leo Armando B. Boncales , public relations and alumni affairs officer, Henrietto B. Magdua, chief security officer, and UBSSG President Donald H. Curan. The affair was likewise graced with the presence of some members of the board of trustees; City Vice Mayor Nuevas T. Montes, VP for administration, Dr. Cristeta B. Tirol, VP for finance, Mrs. Fe G. Icamen, and Mrs. Amparo B. Castañeda. Deans Eva Campeciño-pharmacy, Ma. Asuncion Laxa- Bersabal- THM, Carolina Belarmino- education, Isabelita Margate-nursing, Cesar Edulan-CBA, Marlumina B. Teh- liberal arts, and Mrs. Rosario Pabulario- head librarian, were also present.
A Campus Student Organization (CSO) Fair was held in the afternoon to create a venue for the freshmen and transferees to have an opportunity to get acquainted with the different campus student organizations. The whole day activity was spearheaded by the office of the SPS. (LAB)
