The UB College of Architecture and Fine Arts joined the 10th Visayan Island Exhibit- Conference (VIVA Ex-Con) held last November 27-29, 2008 in Cebu City.
The VIVA Ex-Con is a gathering of artist all over Visayas and it is considered as the longest running exhibit conference of professionals and non-professional artists. “USWAG LAMBIGIT BISAYA! Is the concept of the exhibition which is focused on the notion and practice of artistic collaboration.
The Boholano student artists were headed by fine arts instructress Ms Sandra de la Serna Lee, Ms Arlene Sy and Ms Malou Lonitmingao and two other professional artists Joey Labrador and Guy Custudio. The 28 UB architecture and fine arts students are as follows: Jonathan Paul Mutuc, Midas Mel Sarabia, Shirley Joy Araña, Genebeth Operiano, Nikko Neil Gida, Maria Theodora Galarido, Melvin Lumagod, Joezel Acuzar, Jolas Regonas, Gian Carlo Lim, May Ian Reformina, Carlos Kiven Tajale, Ralph Hyren Cepe, Shiela Segundo, Leslie Pasagad, Virgil Ryan Hora, Joseph Llido, Cindy Arcaya, Jefferson Boja, Ma. Conception Waluhan, John Kenneth Uycoque, Benedict Enerio, Arizza Nancy Jule Tirol, Abande Apao, Teddy Dumalag, Ma. Theresa Adag, and Teresito Madera.
Ms. Bea Zobel Jr., Mr Ino Manalo,Congressman Edgar Chatto, and the Center for the Culture and Fine Arts are the main sponsors of the delegation.
During the exhibit the Boholano student’s have the opportunity to show their design in making an “orna”, an ornament where Boholanos are known to house their saints, and the chance to share the beauty, importance and uniqueness of the rich culture and heritage of the Boholano’s.
